M.L. Post

M.L. attended Georgetown, Loyola New Orleans, and La Sorbonne, before ultimately graduating from Hunter College in Manhattan with a B.A. in Film. His thesis short, Super Spree (2011), exhibited at multiple festivals around the country and earned him representation with ICM at 22.

After college, while simultaneously pursuing a writing/directing career, M.L. moonlighted as a 1st AD. In the six-year span between 2010 and 2016 saw M.L. oversaw the production of three feature films, multiple television episodes, and a multitude of commercials.

In 2016, M.L. decided to shift his entire focus onto writing and directing. M.L. has had two films theatrically released and has had projects in development with most of the major studios and steamers. He has made a career of producing and directing meaningful, message-driven, cinema for the best and largest brands in the world.

As of 2018, Matt added producing to his repertoire. He founded the production company UNDERRATED Studios. Unhappy with the lack of diversity and quality storytelling in contemporary American M.L. took distribution into his own hands. In 2021 he launched UNDERRATED’s own OTT platform which promises to streams the world’s finest indie cinema you’ve never heard of.

He believes that storytelling should be democratized and uses his platform to promote some of the world’s most up-and-coming diverse talent.
